Design 2 Assignment
Due Thursday, March 12
Requirements and instructions inside. (Click more, below.)
Requirements for as Much as a B on the Design
- Create your own Photoshop design mockup for a fixed-width design with two or three columns. (A fluid design is acceptable, but not required.)
- Slice out and optimize the background images, placing these in an images folder.
- Create the HTML and CSS to create a fully-functioning web page, with text, images, links, etc. (Links may be “dummy” links, using “#” for the href.)
- Use background images to create flexible elements that can stretch either vertically or horizontally (or both) with visually appealing ends and middles.
- Use the Gilder/Levin replacement (Budd page 65) method for at least one element in the page — probably the site logo.
- Use the pixy rollover method (Budd page 79) for at least one element in the page.
- Create main navigation that is visually appealing, with hover effects. (A horizontal nav bar, such as in the Complete version of the Exam 2 practice files, or in Budd pages 91-93
- Incorporate at least one other design and/or coding technique from Budd chapters 3, 4, or 5.
