Friday, Feb. 19: IE Fixing and Browser Testing Tools

By class time on Friday, Feb. 19:

  1. Review the examples and information about IE conditional comments in this post.
  2. Implement a strategic use of IE conditional comments in your own site. AT A MINIMUM, create a stylesheet for internet explorer 6, use a conditional comment to ensure that IE 6 will link to that stylesheet, and include rules in the IE 6 stylesheet that remove uses of transparent png images or transparent border and background colors (since IE 6 does not recognize these correctly).
  3. Test at least two of the browser testing resources listed here.
  4. Fill out the report below, providing a link to your page with the conditional comments, and describing your results with the browser testing resources you tried — which did you like best, was it easy to use, were you pleased with the results?
