Monday, Feb. 22: Print Stylesheets
By class time on Monday, Feb. 22:
- View the source of think.ingcreative.com and find the link to its print stylesheet (named print.css). View that stylesheet, copy its code, and create a stylesheet and a link to it in your own online site. Make sure that you link to that stylesheet with a link that specifies media=”print”. (You may copy this link from the source of think.ingcreative.com.)
- Once it is all in place, print, or view a print preview of, your website, and view the results. If it is working, you should see the URL of your links displayed beside them (among other changes).
- Read through the stylesheet and try to decipher what it is doing. (Note that some of the selectors may not be the same as for your site, and adjust them accordingly.)
- Read this article on strategies for print stylesheets. (It is possible I may need to update my own, and you may want to tweak yours.)
Do your best. In class on Monday, I will assist you with any confusion or questions you may have.
If you desire — IT IS NOT YET REQUIRED — use the report form below to let me know the results of your work!
