Monday, Jan. 18: Job Outlook Summaries

Due Monday, Jan. 18, by the first of class.

1. In the Occupational Outlook Handbook, identify two (2) occupational categories that interest you.
2. For each one, provide the following information.
   • Description. In 3-7 sentences, what is the nature of the work that this career involves?
   • Job Outlook. How difficult will it be to gain entry into this occupation?
   • Education and Skills Required. Judging from the Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) and from actual job descriptions, what education and skills will employers be looking for?
   • Competitive Edge. From the OOH, job descriptions, and at least one other relevant source, what skills, attitudes, abilities, will make you a stand-out applicant for positions in this field?
