Format
Prepare a 7-10 page document (total), 1-inch margins, single-spaced, 10pt font, with larger headings, divided into two major sections, one for each of two career options. Each section should have the largest heading, with the words: Career Option 1: [Career Name Here]. At the top left the first page, place your name, Portfolio, and date. Number pages at bottom.

Each section should address the following questions, under sub-headings:
- Description. In 3-7 sentences, what is the nature of the work that this career involves?
- Job Outlook. How difficult will it be to gain entry into this occupation?
- Education and Skills Required. Judging from the Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) and from actual job descriptions, what education and skills will employers be looking for?
- Competitive Edge. From the OOH, job descriptions, and at least one other relevant source, what skills, attitudes, abilities, will make you a stand-out applicant for positions in this field?
- Strategy. What steps will you take to prepare yourself for entry into this field? What relevant skills and experience have you accumulated already? What experience, projects, or other evidence of your ability can you point to do demonstrate your abilities? What further skills do you need to develop? Do you anticipate pursuing graduate studies or other course work or training? An internship? Freelance opportunities? Personal skill development? Etc. What kind? Where?
- Online Resources. Provide names, links, and 5-10-sentence descriptions for 3 quality online resources for persons seeking or developing careers in this field. Each description should include who the site is for, what resources it offers, and one or two key features that make it a particularly valuable resource.
- People Resources. Name 2-3 persons you know who might give you valuable insight into the pursuit of a career in this field. Provide a short description of each person and the kind of insight they may be able to provide.
- Sample Job Advertisements. Provide the text from two relevant job advertisements, strategically reduced to 1/2-page each, while keeping the most important and relevant information.
