Thursday, Feb. 4: Doc Lacy’s Conference Room
We will meet in the Doc Lacy’s Conference Room at 3:35. Feel free to grab a drink on your way in.
Our agenda for the class period: Have a fun discussion about these texts and authors we’ve been reading. Please come prepared to give a considered and articulate opinion on these questions. The point of the exercise will be to review, together the texts we’ve been reading and to begin forming some opinions about them.
Our questions for discussion. Each of you should be ready to give your own individual answers:
- Which text do you like best, and why?
- What are three of your favorite quotes? (Be ready to read them to us and tell us why you like them.)
- Who does the best job of writing or speaking in a way that would most appeal to an average American audience? Why?
- Who does the worst job of writing or speaking in a way that would most appeal to an average American audience? Why?
- How important are the various parts of “The American Mixture” in speaking to an American audience?
